Senior Research Engineer/Scientist - C-CORE

The position can be located in St. John’s, NL, or in Ottawa, ON.

Position Overview
As a Senior Research Engineer/Scientist working on the C-CORE’s space and defence related signal analysis projects, you will be an essential part of the team that drives forward novel solutions that lead to practical applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance prototype software systems that include algorithms, machine learning and artificial intelligence.
  • Implement algorithms and machine learning models in practical hardware
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of software developers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers and technologists.
  • Mentor other team members to encourage good research development practices.

Desired Qualifications

  • An electrical engineering, computer engineering or science degree (computer science, math or physics). A post graduate degree is required.
  • 10+ years of experience in signal processing, machine learning and artificial intelligence.
  • Demonstrated experience in algorithm development environments, such as Matlab.
  • Proficiency with radio frequency or photonic systems, and associated technology.
  • Experience with software defined radios and associated development tools (GNURadio) is considered an asset.
